I was delighted when this painting ('Evening Sky') recently found its new home ☺️.
I painted Evening Sky last year and had received lots of lovely comments about it - but (luckily for it's lovely new owner!) no one took the step to purchase it.
My mum has always teased me for being indecisive, but when purchasing art, I completely understand the indecisiveness!
The decision to actually buy art is a tough one. It's a considered purchase and you want to feel confident that you will love it for many years to come. That's why I thought I'd provide a little checklist of things to think about before making the decision...
Seeing it in person.
While artists try their hardest to capture the best of the painting in website photos, there's something about seeing it in real life that can make all the difference. If you'd like to see any of my paintings before purchasing and are local to Surrey, feel free to get in touch to arrange a visit to my studio. Alternatively, join my mailing list to hear about upcoming art fairs and exhibitions.
Not local? I'll happily send over more photos/videos if it helps with decision making. I also offer a Buy-Back agreement - check out my returns policy for more information. I want you to be completely happy with your new painting!
Consider the room.
Check your measurements and think about whether you want to give the artwork space or how you might group multiple pieces together. Colour schemes and framing choices also contribute to whether you feel a painting suits it's new home well or not.
I love playing with the clever 'in situ' art apps you can get. One of the features I've just discovered is the ability to upload a photo of a room (rather than use the rooms settings that the app provides). I can then drop in a photo of the artwork to give an idea of how it would look. Feel free to send me your room photos if you fancy seeing how one of my pieces would look in your home.
Budget.
Buying artwork isn't cheap. But that doesn't mean it can't be affordable. It's an investment for your home - bringing you a new view, or being a catalyst for a feeling you seek to create in your space. Perhaps it evokes a memory, or prompts a daydream.
I hope people that purchase art from me truly treasure it for years to come but there's no denying that the cost of living is taking a hit. If you fall in love with one of my paintings but need a more affordable way to purchase it, I offer the option of spreading the payment over three months. Get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
Don't worry about delivery.
Currently it's free within the U.K. and I promise to package it really well! You're also welcome to collect it from my studio in Surrey if you prefer. If you are outside the U.K., email me before placing your order and I'll provide shipping estimates for you.
